Auction
The books in this silent auction have been donated to the Institute by longtime ARI Benefactors John and Katie Stevenson, from Mr. Stevenson’s private collection. The Institute will earmark 100 percent of the auction proceeds for the newly established John R. Stevenson Scholarship Fund at ARI. Thus in addition to acquiring a rare piece of Ayn Rand memorabilia, auction bidders will be helping to provide scholarships for the promising “New Intellectuals” engaged in ARI’s academic programs.
Absentee Bidding: Anyone not attending the auction may have an ARI representative act as his or her agent. The ARI representative will bid on books, starting at the bid minimum and increasing at the bid increment for that book. For example, if you would like to bid on a book for which the bid increment is $250, and the highest you want to bid is $10,000, an ARI representative will start the bidding on your behalf at the bid minimum and bid in $250 increments up to your maximum. If at the silent auction the highest bid is $7,000, you will own the book for $7,250.
The high bidder for each book will own the book without incurring a bidder premium. Payments from successful bidders will be tax-deductible contributions to the Ayn Rand Institute to the extent of the excess dollar amount over the opening bid amount.
To place bids or otherwise inquire further, please contact ARI Donor Services at 949-222-6550, ext. 204, or e-mail events@aynrand.org.
